You're reading: Groysman: Ukraine grateful to Turkey for its position on protection of Crimean Tatars

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has taken part in the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.

During the visit to the Turkish capital, Groysman was accompanied by members of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the representative of Ukraine’s president for Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev, the press service of the Ukrainian government said.

“Turkey is an important economic and political partner. We have many joint plans in mutual trade, energy. And we are also grateful for the position on protecting the Crimean Tatars,” wrote Groysman on Facebook.

According to the Ukrainian government, trade between Ukraine and Turkey rose by 20.1 percent to $3.78 billion in 2017, with a surplus of $1.26 billion.

As reported, on June 12, the Supreme Electoral Commission of Turkey announced the victory of Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the presidential elections.
