Ukraine’s Ministry of Health has proposed to launch a pilot project on the introduction of an electronic system for automating the accounting of health services (eHealth) for a year.

The corresponding draft government decree is posted on the ministry’s website.

The project foresees that participants in the pilot project will keep records of the medical services provided and manage medical information using an electronic health care system. This will allow automating the accounting of medical services by creating, posting, publishing and exchanging data and documents in an electronic form, which includes a central database and medical information systems, between which an automatic exchange of information through an application programming interface (API) is provided.

Participants will independently decide on participation in the pilot project.

The project provides that the Ministry of Health will have within a month to approve a procedure for the operation of the electronic health system in the pilot project and report on the results of the project no later than three months after its completion.
