Anatoliy Hrytsenko, the leader of the Civil Position party, was attacked with eggs in Odesa when trying to enter a local radio station; one of his party’s members was injured in an attack, which followed.

“He was supposed to go on air at one of local radio stations. In front of the entrance, there were about 20 people ‘of athletic appearance’ wearing masks. They brought eggs with them to carry out a provocation. They did not let Anatoliy Hrytsenko in who first tried to enter the on-air room and then left to attend other events on his agenda,” Khrystyna Bondarenko, a spokesperson for the Civil Position party, told Interfax-Ukraine news agency on November 28 late night.

She said those people “of athletic appearance” later attacked several people who had arrived together with Hrytsenko. As a result of the attack, a member of the local unit of the Civil Position party was injured. He sustained cerebral concussion and had one of his eyebrows cut.

The police were called to the scene to prevent further escalation. A criminal investigation is underway under Part 4 of Article 296 (disorderly conduct) of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.
