LUHANSK – Observers from the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE SMM) are not getting full access to weaponry storage sites on both sides of the frontline in Donbas, heavy weapons remain on the contact line, SMM deputy chief Alexander Hug said.

The SMM have full access neither on the Ukrainian, nor on this side, Hug told the separatists leaders on Feb. 17.

Both separatists, and Ukraine army are keeping the weapons which should not be deployed on the disengagement line, and the SMM’s task is to document these weapons’ presence on the disengagement line, he said.

He urged Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky to take measures to remove the weapons.

The OSCE has always maintained that to ensure peaceful co-existence military logic should be replaced by the logic of peace, Hug said.
