The identities of 13 witnesses who are taking part in the case of the Boeing of the Malaysian Airlines MH17 shot down in Donbas in 2014 will be kept secret due to security measures, the Dutch news program Nieuwsuur reported on Feb. 25, referring to documents of the prosecutor’s office.

In particular, the personal data of these 13 witnesses will not be disclosed, as according to the prosecutor’s office, they are exposed to significant risks.

Nieuwsuur also claims to have official charges that were sent to four suspects on Oct. 2 last year at their addresses known to the judiciary. However, it is not known for certain whether they currently live there.

The four suspects are charged with the murder, as they deliberately endangered the aircraft. According to the prosecutor’s office, they provided the commander (s) and crew of the Buk missile with telephones and information about the exact location to launch the missile. In addition, the suspects controlled the transport and participated in hiding the Buk and the crew.

The trial will begin at the Schiphol Judicial Complex on March 9, where enhanced security measures are provided.
