You're reading: Ihor Rainin: System of state governance in Ukraine is sufficiently balanced

Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Administration Ihor Rainin believes Ukraine’s system of state governance is sufficiently balanced. He said changes to the Constitution of Ukraine should be based on the nation’s development.

“The system of state governance today is sufficiently balanced. Of course, there is no limit to perfection. Do we need to amend the Constitution? Changes should be made with the objective of the nation’s development, to produce a better system,” Rainin said during an interview with the Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

The official said there has been no professional discussion about the necessity to change the Constitution, adding that there is no conflict between the president and the prime minister. According to Rainin, issues that arise are settled quickly.

Rainin also said he does not see conflicts of interests between state ministries in Ukraine.

“We have a coalition government. That means we have management teams. The goal is shared – to develop the country, although approaches may vary. This is normal. Today I don’t see risks for unbalancing the work of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine,” he said.
