The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will approve the schedule for providing the fourth loan tranche to Ukraine under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program after the IMF mission ends its work in Kyiv, IMF representative Gerry Rice said at a briefing in Washington on Nov. 10.

“There is a staff mission in Kyiv at the moment discussing the third review of that program and also Article 4 consultation is taking place. The mission is in the field right now, they will assess progress on the implementation of the program and within the Article 4 consultation they also be looking beyond that to the medium term challenges facing Ukraine, included they need to accelerate the structural transformation of the economy to achieve strong growth. I think we have to wait for this mission… Next we will be on the better position to give a sense of timing,” Rice said.
