Corruption in Ukraine every year costs 2 percent of GDP to the country, Resident Representative in Ukraine of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Gösta Ljungman has said.

Corruption is not only the issue of justice, but this is an important economic issue, he said in Kyiv on Nov. 3, speaking at the Ukrainian Investment Forum organized by CFA Society Ukraine.

He said that according to the IMF’s assessments, corruption every year costs 2 percent of economic growth to the country.

He said that the further economic restoration of Ukraine and welfare of population directly depends on settling this issue.
