You're reading: Injured Ukrainian MP Mosiychuk gives testimony to SBU

Radical Party MP Ihor Mosiychuk, who was injured as a result of a balst outside the building of the Espreso television channel late on Oct. 25, has said that he had already given testimony to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

At a briefing on Oct. 27 at the Shalimov National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology in Kyiv, where he is undergoing treatment, when asked why, in his opinion, an attempt was made, the parliamentarian said: “All the scenarios that this is not connected with Mosiychuk, but with someone else are complete nonsense. I have given evidence to SBU, so I cannot disclose information.”

“The only thing I will say, as I said before, is that it was an attempt on me, an attempt on our Radical Party, an attempt on our leader, an attempt on every Ukrainian so as to frighten every Ukrainian. I’m sure that customers are sitting in Moscow, while executors are walking among us, on the streets of Kyiv. I cannot say any specific details yet, because the investigation is underway, and I would like SBU to really demonstrate its professionalism and find those who executed and then those who ordered [the assassination],” Mosiychuk said.

He noted that he had previously announced his broadcast on the Espresso TV channel before the explosion and that a motor scooter with explosives was parked 20 minutes before he left the TV channel building.

“This refutes the scenario that the attack was on the second police officer, who was passing by accidentally,” he said.

Mosiychuk noted that he remembered the moment of the explosion: “I remember everything. I did not lose consciousness.”

As reported, two people were killed and three more, including Radical Party MP Ihor Mosiychuk and political analyst Bala, were injured in an explosion outside the building of the Espresso TV channel late on Oct. 25. Both of them were hospitalized and underwent surgery. Those who were killed are two police officers – Mosiychuk’s security guard, Ruslan Kushnir, who died on his way to hospital, and 36-year-old local resident Mykhailo Mormel.

The explosion was qualified as a terrorist attack. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is overseeing the investigation.
