A EuroMaidan protester injured during the attack on activists on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv in the early hours of Nov. 30, 2013, walks later in the day past the nearby St. Michael’s Cathedral. Protesters sought refuge from the police and treatment for their injuries in the church following the savage attack by the Berkut special police units that cleared the square. The Berkut also attacked journalists and members of the public, sparking outrage in Ukraine society.
