The deputy head of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (BPP) faction, MP Iryna Lutsenko has refuted the information she is one of the candidates for the post of head of the faction.

“Rumors on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada and unconfirmed information in mass media that I’m applying for the post of head of the BPP faction in the Verkhovna Rada are untrue,” the press service said on the party’s official website.

Earlier on Friday, March 24, MP from the BPP faction Boryslav Rozenblat called Iryna Lutsenko a possible candidate for the post of head of the faction.

A source in the faction told Interfax-Ukraine, in addition to Lutsenko’s candidacy, incumbent deputy heads of the faction Serhiy Berezenko and Oksana Prodan, are also being discussed for the post of head of the faction.

Berezenko, in turn, said BPP faction chairman Ihor Hryniv intends to resign from the post of faction head.
