You're reading: Isolated ammo explosions of varying intensities continue in Balaklia

Isolated ammo explosions are being observed in Balaklia, Kharkiv region, where the fire is being contained and put out, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service said in a report.

“As of 7 a.m. on March 27, pyrotechnic teams of the State Emergency Service had cleared of explosive devices in the town of Balaklia and nine more populated localities within the emergency zone. Isolated ammo explosions of varying intensities are being observed on the depots’ utility premises,” the report posted on the State Emergency Service’s website said.

Three firefighting tanks, three combat engineer vehicles and three fire engines of the Defense Ministry are containing and putting out fires, while three fire engines of the State Emergency Service are delivering water to the location.

Gas supply has been cut, potentially hazardous facilities have suspended their operation, and a 40km no-fly zone has been established in the emergency zone.

The fire broke out causing detonations at ammo depots near Balaklia in the Kharkiv region in the small hours of March 23.
