First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk admits the possibility of holding a national referendum on Ukraine’s accession to NATO, if this issue is relevant to citizens.

“There are countries that held referendums before joining NATO and the EU. Ukrainians should have a chance to express their opinions if the people consider such an issue appropriate,” Stefanchuk said in an interview to Focus magazine released on Aug. 3.
