Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) Nazar Kholodnytsky has stressed the need to create an anti-corruption court as guarantee of judicial review of cases of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).

“It (the timeframe for the formation of the anti-corruption) is a political issue. As a lawyer, I repeatedly stated that the need for an anti-corruption court is long overdue,” Kholodnytsky said on the air of the 112.ua television channel on Friday.

According to him, the anti-corruption agencies are ready to transfer their cases to the anti-corruption court. “But while it is not there, we see that because of the workload on the existing courts, because of the possible unwillingness to hear the case, we cannot get sentences, either accusatory or acquittal ones,” Kholodnytsky said.

At the same time, the SAPO head stressed the need to take all the measures to obtain a court ruling on the proceedings probed by the NABU.
