Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin has again asked lawmakers to vote for his resignation.

“A second try. I sincerely ask lawmakers to support my request for resignation. As they say, I greatly appreciate. In advance,” he wrote on Twitter on June 11.

As was reported, Klimkin on May 17 drafted his letter of resignation. He said he had informed President Volodymyr Zelenskiy about his decision to step down as foreign minister in advance.

On May 30, Zelenskiy tabled motions in parliament to support the resignation of Klimkin along with the dismissal of Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak and SBU Chief Vasyl Hrytsak. On May 31, Klimkin called on parliamentarians to vote for his resignation.

Yet, on June 6, Ukraine’s parliament voted down all the motions.

On June 11, Zelenskiy submitted a new motion for Klimkin’s resignation. In addition, draft resolution No. 10382 was registered in parliament on the same day to appoint Vadym Prystaiko as Ukraine’s foreign minister.
