You're reading: Klimkin: Expulsion of Russian diplomats just the beginning

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said that the expulsion of Russian diplomats should be just the beginning and that Ukraine and Europe should also get rid of their dependence on Russian gas.

“Today’s expression of solidarity should be just the beginning. Further strong and comprehensive actions are needed. Russian understands only the language of power,” he wrote on Twitter.

According to Klimkin, Russian gas has a “neuro-paralytic” effect on the whole of Europe.

“Europe and Ukraine must get rid of Russian gas dependence,” he said.

As reported, Ukraine, as a sign of solidarity with British partners and transatlantic allies and in coordination with the countries of the European Union, is expelling 13 Russian diplomats, according to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
