Gazprom has so far refused to recognize the decisions of the Stockholm arbitration and the new gas legislation of Ukraine, on the basis of which it is proposed to sign a new transit agreement, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

“The Russian side does not even consider the fact that we now have completely different legislation, other rules, other laws that reflect European legislation and that we have to move from “agreements” to real contracts that will be based on European rules. Neither Russia nor Gazprom is willing to consider this at this stage,” he told reporters following the trilateral meeting held in Brussels on Jan. 21.
