You're reading: Klimkin reminds about strengthening of security measures when crossing borders of EU countries

The countries of the European Union start to apply rules on improving security measures since April 7 and the terms of border crossing may slightly increase, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.

“From now on the EU’s safety rules start operating […] This means that there will be additional checks […] Therefore, if you cross the border for some minutes longer, this is not related to the introduction of a visa-free regime,” Klimkin said during an hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada in Kyiv on April 7.

He explained that during these checks the passport data of citizens with information from various registries will be checked.
