You're reading: Klimkin says Ukraine to initiate differentiated approach within Eastern Partnership

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said that Kyiv will offer the European Union a differentiated approach within the framework of the Eastern Partnership project.

“I believe that the time has come to think about efficient differentiation within the Eastern Partnership. Since countries that have an association and a visa-free regime cannot do the same as the countries which do not seek European integration either at present or in the future,” the minister said in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine in Strasbourg on May 17.

“Therefore, the [Eastern Partnership] summit, which will be held in November this year, should take steps in this direction,” Klimkin added.
