Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto have discussed the streamlining of the provision of Hungarian assistance for the development of Zakarpattia, and also agreed to speed up the implementation of joint border infrastructure projects.

“The issues of streamlining the provision of Hungarian assistance for the development of Zakarpattia, which will be coordinated by the newly appointed ambassador at large of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Mykola Baltazhy and authorized by the Minister for the development of cooperation between Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Zakarpattia regions Istvan Grezsa, were discussed,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported following the meeting of two ministers in Milan, on the sidelines of the OSCE ministerial meeting.

The foreign ministers also agreed to intensify interregional cooperation and speed up the implementation of joint border infrastructure projects, in particular, those that were discussed at the level of deputy ministers Vasyl Bodnar and Levente Magyar on November 26.

Klimkin informed the Hungarian colleague about the act of aggression of Russia against Ukraine in the water area of the Kerch Strait and called on official Budapest to join the activities of the international community to restrain the Russian aggressor.

He also told Szijjarto about the steps of the Ukrainian side on the issue of implementation of the law “On Education.”
