Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin will pay an official visit to the Republic of Macedonia on April 11-12, where he will meet with the country’s leadership and hold talks with his Macedonian counterpart Nikola Dimitrov.

The goal of Klimkin’s visit is to step up the Ukrainian-Macedonian cooperation, in particular, mutual support on the path to joining the EU and NATO, the discussion of the preparation for the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Macedonian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the bilateral Committee for the Implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Macedonia, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

Also during the visit, the preparation for the signing of an agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Macedonia, which introduces a visa-free regime for short-term trips of citizens of the two countries with biometric passports, will be discussed.

Within the framework of the visit, the Ukrainian foreign minister will lay flowers to the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Skopje together with a huge group of Ukrainians in Macedonia, and also give an interview to the local media.
