Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has urged the Security Service of Ukraine to investigate into the bomb threat at Oleksandrivska Hospital.

“Such things should not go unpunished! Yesterday (on Wednesday), the patients were urgently evacuated to a medical facility late at night, which is crucial for treating patients with coronavirus,” Klitschko said during an online briefing on Thursday.

The mayor of the capital thanked the services that worked promptly and professionally checked the information.

“I am grateful to the rescuers for the operational work and checking the hospital buildings. I thank our doctors, who also worked calmly and professionally yesterday,” the mayor said.

In turn, the SBU press center told Interfax-Ukraine: “The SBU, within its competence, together with other law enforcement agencies will identify the authors of this anonymous message.”

As previously reported, at 21.40 p.m. on April 8, an unknown person called the police and said that explosives had been planted in one of the buildings of the hospital.

“Information about the mining of a medical facility has not been confirmed. During the inspection of the building and the surrounding area, explosive substances and objects have not been found. At the time of the survey, more than 100 people were evacuated, including patients and medical staff,” reads the statement posted on the official website of the National Police in Kyiv.
