Board chairman of Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev expressed hope the new supervisory board of the company would soon review and reconcile the company’s development strategy.

“This plan was developed last year and finalized this year. It was previously agreed upon by the previous supervisory board. I hope we will be able to submit it to the new supervisory board for reconsideration,” Kobolev said on the air of TV Channel Five.

He noted the stage of preparation for the separation of Naftogaz Ukrainy and the operator of the gas transportation system, which is envisaged by the Third Energy Package, has already been completed.

“The consideration and coordination of the Naftogaz development strategy will give answers to all the questions. First of all, why does Naftogaz exist? Secondly, in what state should it exist. And, thirdly, how to achieve this. I hope we, together with the supervisory board, will consider these issues in the near future and offer to the shareholders, i.e. to the government,” Kobolev said.

He noted it is difficult for him to comment on the professional skills of the new members of the Naftogaz supervisory board as he knows only what is in the Internet about them, but he “perceives the information positively and with a great optimism.”
