Ukrainian diplomat, ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the European Union and former deputy head of the fifth president’s administration Petro Poroshenko, Kostyantyn Yeliseyev, has applied for his dismissal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

“I applied for dismissal from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. I didn’t think that my 28-year diplomatic career could end this way,” Yeliseyev wrote on his Twitter account on Nov. 8 morning.

At the same time, he expressed hope for his return to the Foreign Ministry.

“I hope to return. The diplomat Yeliseyev remains!” he tweeted.

Kostyantyn Yeliseyev served as Ambassador of Ukraine to the European Union from 2010 to 2015. From 2015 to 2019, he was a diplomatic advisor to the fifth president of Ukraine.
