MOSCOW – Ukraine’s $3-billion debt on eurobonds has not been included in the agreements on gas transport across Ukraine, and this problem will be addressed separately, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said.

“This is a separate issue. We have a lot of complicated issues, but, after all, these are different debts. One is a state debt, and the other is a commercial one. We have issues with Naftogaz of Ukraine and the Ukrainian government, and they have some claims that have not yet been considered. [The parties had] to withdraw and nullify everything, sign an irrevocable amicable agreement and close the matter,” Kozak said.

“A lot of other problems could have been attached to this problem. But then we wouldn’t have agreed upon anything for sure. This is a separate issue. It has been separated in order to reach agreements quicker,” he said.
