You're reading: Kremlin reports Putin, Nazarbayev discuss Ukraine

MOSCOW – Russian President Vladimir Putin and first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev have had a telephone conversation to address some issues of the bilateral and international agenda, including the settlement in Ukraine, the Kremlin press service said on Nov. 11.

Nazarbayev’s press service, in turn, said that “during the conversation, the parties discussed the preparations for the upcoming session of the Eurasian Supreme Economic Council in St. Petersburg. Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin also exchanged views on the relevant issues of the regional and international agenda.”

The next session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the main supranational authority of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), is to take place in St. Petersburg in early December. Nazarbayev is the honorary chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

The EAEU comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia.
