Second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, who is also Ukraine’s representative in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office to the TCG Heidi Grau have discussed the agenda of the first meeting of the group in 2020.

“They discussed the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the fulfilment of the agreements reached by the Normandy Four leaders in Paris. They also discussed the agenda of the first meeting of the TCG in 2020, which is scheduled for January 16 in Minsk. They stressed the importance of the prisoner exchange on December 29, 2019,” Darka Olifer, the spokesperson for Kuchma, wrote on Facebook, summing up the results of the meeting in Kyiv on January 14.

Kuchma also informed Grau about the violations of the ceasefire regime in Donbas by the Russia-occupation forces.

“Full ceasefire, withdrawal of foreign armed forces and equipment from the territory of Ukraine, restoring of control over the border – these are the things from which peacebuilding can start,” Kuchma said.

As reported, Ambassador Heidi Grau has been heading the Human Security Division of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs since 2015. In December 2019, she replaced Austrian diplomat Miroslav Lajčák as OSCE Special Representative.
