Ukraine will fight to protect its interests until the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is 100% complete, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

“Nothing is finished until it is 100% complete [the construction of Nord Stream 2], and, by the way, I told the Secretary of State [U.S.] Anthony Blinken about this during our meeting. And the second: nothing is lost until the game is over. Of course, now the builders of Nord Stream 2 have a much greater chance of completing this project, but my rule in life is to always fight to the end for the national interests of Ukraine. And we will fight to protect our interests until gas flows along Nord Stream 2,” Kuleba said at a joint press conference with OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid on May 26.

As reported, U.S. President Joe Biden expressed confidence that the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will continue despite the existing U.S. sanctions. Biden told reporters that the implementation of the project, in his opinion, will continue, because “it’s almost completely finished.”
