The Kyiv Court of Appeal has upheld the conviction of 5 years of imprisonment for Ukrainian citizen Dmyro Kupriyan, who was the accomplice of the so-called ‘Defense Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic’ Igor Girkin.
Based on the results of the judicial examination of the materials of the criminal proceeding against Kipriyan, the court found him guilty of committing a crime under Part 1, Article 258-3 (forming a terrorist group or a terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine reported on Friday,
He was charged with being in the area of Donetsk region controlled by the DPR terrorist organization from June to September 2014, sharing the political views of members of the DPR, he became a member of this terrorist organization. “Taking the position of the so-called ‘head of the rear service of the DPR’ and following the instructions of the so-called ‘Defense Minister of the DPR’, Russian citizen Girkin, he took an active part in the activities of this terrorist organization, and also contributed to its activities,” the press service reported.
