You're reading: Kyiv asks the Netherlands to help in buying artificial lungs ventilators

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba and Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Stef Blok during a phone conversation discussed the current situation with fight against the coronavirus disease COVID-19 pandemic. Kuleba asked his counterpart to help Ukraine to buy artificial lungs ventilators, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

“Kuleba thanked his counterpart for the assistance that the Netherlands provides to Ukrainian citizens who are returning to their homeland in transit through the airport of Amsterdam. For his part, Blok thanked Ukraine for helping to return a group of Dutch citizens to their homeland,” the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine said in a statement on its website on March 27.

Kuleba also noted the importance of maintaining trade and economic ties between countries during the pandemic.

“We must spare no effort to maintain, in the current conditions, trade between countries, and minimize the negative impact on our economies,” the Foreign Ministry’s press service said, quoting him as saying.

In addition, the parties emphasized the need to maintain international sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation until the country ceases its aggressive illegal actions and returns to the international legal field.

The two ministers also noted the excellent level of cooperation between the competent authorities of Ukraine and the Netherlands in the MH17 case.
