The Kyiv City Council has voted in general for the decision to grant an official status to fighters of the volunteer battalions, who defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in Donbas.
Some 87 deputies out of 120 voted for this decision at a meeting on June 1, the Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine news agency said.
