Ukraine is observing the development of the situation in its neighboring country Moldova with concern and calls for the resolution of political disputes as part of a political dialogue, the press service for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
“We call on Moldova’s leading political forces to operate within the legal boundaries and resolve the disputes by means of a political dialogue to avoid a violent confrontation. The prevention of an outside interference is crucial for the country and security of the situation in the region,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its website on June 9 evening.
Ukraine is interested in a stable, democratic and European Moldova and is ready to provide assistance in the settlement of the existing problems if necessary.
“The Republic of Moldova remains Ukraine’s important partner and neighbor with which we share common interests and our common European future,” it said.
