Kyiv’s Obolonsky District Court has begun its second hearing involving charges about the fact that disgraced ex President Viktor Yanukovych committed state treason.

The Kyiv-based Interfax-Ukraine news agency said the issue on whether to conduct a special (in absentia) court hearing on the matter would be decided on June 29.

The issue was raised at the previous hearing after prosecutors filed motions for conducting the procedure because Yanukovych failed to appear in court.
