Kyiv District Administrative Court has turned down motions by leader of the Movement of New Forces party and former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili against the Justice Ministry and the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office.

Saakashvili had earlier filed motions against the Ukrainian State Migration Service, the Justice Ministry, and the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office.

Kyiv District Administrative Court said in a statement on Wednesday that the court had ruled not to open proceedings on Saakashvili’s administrative lawsuit against the Justice Ministry and the Kyiv city prosecutor’s office.

Saakashvili asked the court to find unlawful the Justice Ministry’s decision to accept for consideration the Georgian Justice Ministry’s Chief Prosecutor’s Office request for Saakashvili’s detention, and extradition and the decision to start examining Saakashvili’s eligibility for extradition based on the said request, the statement says.

Kyiv District Administrative Court has also received Saakashvili’s motion against the State Migration Service, in which he asked the court to rule as unlawful and illegal the State Migration Service’s failure to consider his appeal against the refusal to fill out the necessary documents to recognize him as a refugee or a person in need of special protection within the timeframe stipulated by the law.

Saakashvili also asked the court to oblige the State Migration Service to consider the relevant appeal and reports. The court has yet to decide whether to open proceedings on the case.

Saakashvili was stripped of Ukrainian citizenship in July by decree of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

On November 3, a district administrative court in Kyiv opened proceedings in a lawsuit filed by Saakashvili against the Kyiv regional directorate of the Ukrainian State Migration Service.
