A European country could help evacuate Ukrainian citizens from the Chinese city of Wuhan, at the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said.

“As you know, Ukraine has helped other countries pull their citizens [out of China]. Everyone does this, not only us. In response, we’re now hoping that we’ll also receive help with the evacuation of our citizens. There aren’t many of them left there,” Prystaiko told the Ukraine 24 television channel on Feb. 28.

They may be flown out of China within the next few days, he said.

“There is one European country that is currently proposing taking our citizens out of Wuhan. In principle, we’re ready to do so within the next few days,” Prystaiko said.

At the same time, Prystaiko did not rule out that Kyiv could evacuate all Ukrainians from China on its own.
