Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko has expressed hope that the swap of prisoners between Ukrainian authorities and Russia-backed separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk regions will take place before a meeting of Normandy Four leaders which could be held in April.

“We hope that before the [meeting’s] scheduled time in April, as no one has officially discarded it yet, we hope that the swap will be completed by this time,” Prystaiko said in the Details of the Week program on Inter TV channel on Feb. 28 evening.

According to Prystaiko, “if there were a swap for up to a couple of hundred people, as we plan now, we would then come very close to the principle of the all for all [swap], that is, we would then take everyone and return all Ukrainians home.”

According to the foreign minister, it is necessary to proceed from the principle that the lack of progress (in the implementation of the agreements reached in Paris) is precisely the basis for the next meeting of the leaders.
