The Ukrainian side of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) insists on comprehensive monitoring by concerned international organizations at all stages of the hostage release, Darka Olifer, spokeswoman for Ukraine’s second president Leonid Kuchma, who represents the country in the TCG, has said.

“Work is continuing on the release of hostages, but we insist that at all stages of the release of people, the concerned international organizations should carefully monitor everything that happens. First and foremost, this implies their unhindered access to illegally detained persons,” she wrote on her Facebook page on March 14.

In addition, she stressed, it is necessary to unblock the implementation of an important humanitarian initiative on the creation of a trilateral mechanism for the search for missing persons with the participation of Ukraine, Russia and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
