You're reading: Kyiv reports one separatist attack in Donbas with no casualties over past day

Russian-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions in Donbas only once, with no casualties reported, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported.

“On January 8, the Russia-led forces violated the cease-fire regime once. At the same time, there were no cases of use of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements … Over the past 24 hours, no JFO soldier was injured,” the JFO staff said on Facebook on Jan. 9 morning.

Strongholds of our troops near the village of Novotoshkivske in the Luhansk sector were attacked with the use of grenade launchers of various systems along with small arms.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, on January 8, two separatists were killed and another one was injured.

“Since Jan. 8 midnight, Kremlin-backed forces haven’t opened fire,” the JFO headquarters noted.

The update says that despite bad weather conditions, the Ukrainian military continues countering the separatists along the contact line, abiding by the ceasefire.
