Russia-backed separatists conducted 57 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas on June 12, where one Ukrainian soldier has been killed and another five have been wounded in the past 24 hours, the press service of the Ukrainian military said on its Facebook account.

In the Mariupol sector, separatists used grenade launchers and infantry fighting vehicle weapons against Maryinka and fired mortars of different calibers at Ukrainian army positions near Pavlopil, Maryinka and Chermalyk. All in all, 27 truce violations have been recorded in this area.

In the Donetsk sector, an attack was recorded near Luhanske, the press service said. In addition to that, 120mm and 82mm mortars, tanks and anti-aircraft guns were used against Ukrainian military positions located on the southern outskirts of Avdiyivka and near the village of Kamyanka. A residential area in Avdiyivka came under 125mm tank weapon fire. Shells also exploded near houses on Ostrovsky and Gagarin Streets in this populated locality. Local residents’ houses near Zaitseve also came under fire on June 12.

In the Luhansk sector, separatists attacked Ukrainian positions 18 times, the headquarters said. In particular, 120mm mortars were used near Troitske and Kryakivka, 82mm mortars were fired in the vicinity of Novotoshkivske, Katerynivka, Triokhizbenka, Zolote, and Novooleksandrivka, and anti-tank missile systems were also used near Novooleksandrivka.
