You're reading: Kyiv reports two soldiers wounded amid five separatist attacks in Donbas in last day

Russia-backed separatists have attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas five times in the past 24 hours, with two Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action (WIA), the press center of the headquarters of Ukraine’s military operations has reported.

“The Russia-backed forces continue firing at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and disrupting the agreement of the Trilateral Contact Group on the ceasefire regime. Over the past day, the aggressor has committed five shelling attacks on the strongholds of Ukrainian militaries,” the press center of the headquarters of Ukraine’s military operations reported on Facebook on March 21 morning.

In the Donetsk sector, separatists employed grenade launchers and heavy machine against our positions near the village of Pisky. In addition, Russia-backed separatists fired grenade launchers and anti-tank weapons at the Ukrainian militaries of the town of Avdiyivka.

In the Luhansk sector, Russian-backed forces opened fire from small arms at the Ukrainian fortified positions near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska, as well as from 82mm mortars and an anti-aircraft gun –outside the village of Troyitske. Moreover, Ukrainian soldiers of the village of Luhanske came under fire from 82mm mortars.
