The emergency situation caused by a fire at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s ammunition depots near Balaklia in Kharkiv region has now been taken under control, and efforts are being made to deal with its aftermath, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.

“The number of explosions has now considerably decreased. Air and ground reconnaissance was conducted this morning. Its results give reasons to say that the stage of containment is over and we, the military, are beginning to clean up the aftermath,” Deputy Defense Minister Ihor Pavlovsky said at an expanded meeting of the task force in charge of coordinating the cleanup efforts in Balaklia on March 24.
