You're reading: Kyiv says Donbas denies access to intl humanitarian convoy

A convoy of 25 humanitarian trucks of the UN High Commissioner for Refugee’s Office for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine was denied access to Donbas areas uncontrolled by Kyiv on Jan. 26, the State Border Service of Ukraine said in a report.

It said the trucks were cleared at the Novotroyitske checkpoint in the Donetsk region in the morning of Jan. 26. “The international agency sent over 540 tonnes of construction materials and medicines to people in the self-proclaimed territory but illegal armed units turned the humanitarian convoy back without any explanation whatsoever,” it said.
