The forces and means of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces recorded the movement of Russian military aircraft along the eastern air border of Ukraine and the contact line in Donbas on February 15.

“Fighter and bomber aircraft of the aggressor state performed flights from the airfields of Kursk, Millerovo, Gvardeyskoye and Saki with the maximum approach to the state border of Ukraine and the contact line,” reads a report posted on the Facebook page of the Air Force Command on February 15.

In addition, according to the report, “a group of strategic Tu-95 rocket-carrying bombers accompanied by a pair of Russian Su-30 fighters flew in the airspace of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and worked out conditional launches of cruise missiles towards mainland Ukraine.”

A member of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security and defense, Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP Iryna Friz, said that she was not surprised by the maneuvers of Russian military aircraft with their maximum approach to the Ukrainian border and the contact line in Donbas.

“The working out by Russia of conditional launches of cruise missiles towards mainland Ukraine proves the Kremlin’s aggressiveness and is an action aimed at restoring their image after the shameful defeat in Syria of units of Russian mercenaries and special operations forces of the Russian Federation,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

According to her, Moscow continues to build the image of foreign policy “gopniks,” far from the norms and rules of relations of the civilized world.

“I am sure that this step will strengthen the preservation and strengthening of sanctions against the Russian Federation,” Friz said.
