You're reading: Lavrov: Minsk Agreements implementation should start with swap in captives

Moscow favors the implementation of the Minsk Agreements concerning the conflict in Donbas via the exchange of captives based on the all-for-all principle, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

“In his inauguration speech today, (Ukrainian) President (Volodymyr) Zelenskiy spoke against attempts to divide Ukrainian society based on language. There is no doubt that that should fully apply to religion as well, including in the broader context of the comprehensive implementation of the Minsk Agreements for overcoming the internal Ukrainian conflict,” Lavrov said at a function on the occasion of Orthodox Easter on Monday.

“It would right, and Christian, to start with the provision of these documents on exchanging the captives based on the all-for-all principle,” he said.
