A lawyer for Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov, who has been convicted in Russia, has asked Russian Representative at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) Mikhail Galperin to help with Sentsov’s transfer from his penitentiary in Yamal to a civilian hospital in Crimea.
“The Agora International Human Rights Group’s lawyer Natasha Dobreva has asked Russia’s Representative at the European Court of Human Rights, Mikhail Galperin, to help secure Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov’s transfer from the penal colony in Yamal to a civilian hospital in Crimea,” Agora head Pavel Chikov wrote on Telegram on Thursday.
“In her letter [to Galperin], the lawyer mentioned the Saint Luke multipurpose medical center in Simferopol as a possible option. It was noted that this medical center was chosen because it has all the necessary equipment, and Sentsov will receive the required medical care there. The doctor who has access to Sentsov’s medical records is in Simferopol, as well,” Chikov said.
