The defense lawyer for Ukraine’s ex-president Viktor Yanukovych said that the ruling by the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv which backed the prosecutor’s request to allow his client’s arrest will be appealed at relevant courts, including the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

“The court ruling will be appealed as one that is illegal and was delivered on the basis of forged documents. We will be appealing such decisions right down to the European Court of Human Rights,” lawyer Vitaliy Serdyuk told Interfax-Ukraine on Dec. 15.
