You're reading: London court postpones issuing interim verdict on Ukraine’s eurobond debt to Russia

The High Court of London on May 26 postponed issuing a verdict on Ukraine’s request for further suspension of the execution of the court ruling dated March 29 in a dispute with Russia on a $3 billion eurobond debt until they finish the consideration of a relevant appeal, the Finance Ministry of Ukraine said.

“Taking into account the complexity of the raised issues, Justice Blair has decided to postpone issuing the verdict. Thus, after today’s hearing, the judge will allocate some time to consider the matter deeper before making his decision within the prescribed time,” the Finance Ministry’s release reads.

As reported, the UK High Court of Justice on March 29 approved an expedited consideration of Russia’s lawsuit against Ukraine regarding $3 billion eurobonds. At the same time, the court ruling lacks a final decision on the point of discussion. In addition, it notes some of the provisions contained in it need clarification, there are many important issues the court must deal with.
