MINSK – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will learn to understand each other and see eye-to-eye in some areas.

“We will find common ground with him, I guarantee to you,” Lukashenko was quoted as saying by the state agency BelTA on Sept. 26 at a meeting with Ukrainian journalists.

Lukashenko said he believes Zelensky and he will be able to learn each other’s positions better at the upcoming meeting with Zelensky at the forum of the two countries’ regions in Zhytomyr.

“I promise to be honest and sincere in my conversation. It’s my thing. I am used to saying things honestly,” the president said.

The forum of Belarusian and Ukrainian regions will take place on Oct. 3-4.
