Belarus stands ready to further contribute to the talks on settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

“We are ready to further facilitate these difficult negotiations [on Ukraine] because this has already started to affect the life of our people,” Lukashenko said in his annual address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on April 21.

None of the points of the Minsk Agreements on settling the armed conflict in Donbas has been fulfilled completely thus far, he said.

“The region is submerged in social and economic chaos,” Lukashenko said.

Belarus has accommodated around 160,000 displaced persons from Ukraine in the past few years, he said.
