Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has announced the introduction of new requests on the granting of consent to bring to criminal responsibility, detain and arrest of people’s deputies in the autumn of this year, 2017.

After the prosecutor general submitted a request on bringing MP from Opposition Bloc Mykhailo Dobkin on Thursday, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko wrote on her Facebook page: “Yura, who is next? Inspired by the activity of the Prosecutor General’s Office.”

Lutsenko in the comments under her post replied: “The rest – in the fall.”

As reported, On June 21, the Verkhovna Rada received requests for removal of parliamentary immunity from prosecution from five lawmakers: Andriy Lozovy (the Radical Party faction), Oles Dovhy (the People’s Will group), Yevhen Deidei and Maksym Poliakov (both of the People’s Front faction) and Boryslav Rozenblat (the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction).

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy expects that on Thursday, July 13, at the last plenary week before the parliamentary holidays, the Ukrainian parliament will be able to strip immunity of five people’s deputies, as requested by the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.

On Thursday, Lutsenko also submitted request on Dobkin, stating that the parliament will have time to take decisions on all submitted requests to deputies, and its regulatory committee “plans to consider requests one per day, starting from July 3.”

According to the schedule of the Verkhovna Rada, the last plenary week of the current sixth session of the eighth convocation will be held from July 11 to July 14.
